Dinner at a local bar....enough said.

It had been a long day, and quite frankly, anything sounded delish at the time, like friken CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! After that fiasco at the bar, Allie and I got kind of crazy back in Millenium Park....

Reflecting on the day in the Windy City

During my wonderful day in Chicago, IL, I went to many venues and experienced a fulfilling day of art and serenity. Each venue I visited somehow impacted how I interacted with a work. For example, some galleries such as sullivan galleries and donald young galleries were not so attractive with me so I hardly even gave the work a second glance. But places like the Presidents Gallery gave me a good laugh so I really interacted with that work....by laughing my ass off at its ridiculous-ness! The Museum of Contemporary Photography did legitimize the work because it was inside the College of Colombia and it also had a very nice set up. As in, the design of the museum was very clean cut and to the point. I took more notice in the Richard Hawkins gallery because it was most definitely interesting with really good artwork presented. Also, an obvious venue, would be the Chicago Institute of Art, which is an amazing place. Overall, my experience in Chicago was good. I got to see spectacular artwork (all around the city not just in the venues). I had time to do some serious shopping and I was able to stop at a nice bar restaurant, where my friend and I were mistaken for locals! :)

Chicago Trip 101

On the pleasant day of October 22, my class for STA 112 went to the Windy City to experience a blissful day of art and serenity. Little did I know that it would soon turn out to be a day of NO rest and hectic activities. We were to go to numerous venues and not to mention we had to feast our eyes on the brilliant Chicago Institute of Arts. Although it was a frenzy of a day, my friend and I still were able to achieve our goals of absorbing Chicago's fine arts.
During the day we went to such venues as:

Donald Young Gallery
Sullivan Galleries
President's Gallery
Hildst Gallery
Utrect supply store
Millenium Park & the Bean
Contemporary Photography Museum
and of course...the Chicago Institute of Arts
